Mitch Davis – Harrison High School Head Coach

A Harrison High School graduate in 2002, Mitch is very familiar with Warrior football. As a two year starter on the offensive line, he was part of the 2000 Warrior team which established school records in winning both the first District Championship and the first State Playoff game ever in Harrison history. He immediately started his coaching career by remaining at Harrison for three years and assisting with both JV and Varsity football under Head Coach and mentor John Davis.

Although only 26 years of age and probably one of the youngest head high school coaches in the state of Florida, Mitch will count on his eight years of coaching experience to guide the way. His coaching philosophy will be twofold. First of all is the commitment to recognize and honor the success of Warrior football over the years and continue that tradition of remaining both competitive within Pinellas County and the lofty pursuit of a state championship. Secondly, and perhaps of the most importance is the character development of each player as he meets his academic and athletic goals here at Harrison High School and matures into a respected young adult.

Jose Esposito – West Lafayette High School Head Coach

Jose Esposito enters his first year as head coach of the Yellowjackets following the retirement of Coach Jim McNeil, taking over for the 2017 Division 26 Champs. As a student at the University of South Florida, Jose began his coaching resume with four years of coaching on Jim Leavitt’s staff as both a Program Assistant and Graduate Assistant. During those four years he enjoyed the opportunity of being a part of the Bulls’ entry into the Big East Conference, participation in four consecutive Bowl appearances where the defense ranked each year in the national top 25 and the USF achievement of being ranked #2 in the nation in 2007. While at USF, he had the privilege of learning from some of the best college coaches in the nation and counts an array of current assistant coaches across the country as mentors and friends. In addition and during his tenure, he coached current NFL players Mike Jenkins (Dallas Cowboys), Trae Williams (Pittsburgh Steelers), Stephen Nicholas (Atlanta Falcons), Tyrone McKenzie (New England Patriots), Nate Allen (Philadelphia Eagles) and Jerome Murphy (St. Louis Rams) among others.

In 2009 Jose left USF and joined new Head Coach Donnie Abraham’s staff at Gibbs High School as their Defensive Coordinator. In this one year coaching stint, the Gladiators won their first ever District Championship and earned a berth in the State Playoffs.
